Educational Requirements:
- Completion of a college program in early childhood education

Job requirements:
- A valid Early Childhood Educator Certification in BC
- First Aid Certificate
- CPR Certificate
- Experience an asset

Language Requirements:
- English

Start date:
ASAP

Wage:
$25.00 - $26.00/hour *Including $6/hour of the wage enhancement

Hours:
35 hours per week

Benefits:
- 10 days paid vacation (4% vacation pay)

Job Description

Job Duties:
- Develop and implement quality child care programs to support and promote the healthy emotional, social and cognitive development of children
- Develop and maintain daily program schedules, including indoor and outdoor activities, active play and quiet time
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and engaging children in creative expression through art, dramatic play, music and physical activities
- Guide children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Observe and assess children’s abilities, interests, and development, identify potential learning or behavioural concerns, and document and discuss progress or issues with parents, supervisors, and other staff members
- Maintain open communication with parents and provide updates on children’s daily activities and well-being during drop-off and pick-up times
- May supervise ECE Assistants
