Job duties
-Cut, trim, debone, and prepare various types of meat and poultry (e.g., pork, beef, chicken, and specialty Asian cuts) according to customer requests and store standards.
-Grind meats and prepare value-added products such as marinated meats, sliced hot-pot meats, BBQ items, and pre-packaged portions for retail sale.
-Weigh, label, wrap, and price meat products using scales and packaging equipment in compliance with store and food safety regulations.
-Inspect meat products for quality, freshness, and proper temperature control
-Maintain clean and sanitary work areas, including cutting tables, knives, band saws, grinders, and display cases, following Manitoba food safety and hygiene standards.
-Stock and rotate meat displays and refrigerated cases to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
-Provide customer service by advising customers on product selection, preparation methods, cooking techniques, and suitable cuts for Chinese and Asian cuisines
-Receive and store meat shipments; verify quantities, record inventory, and properly place products in coolers and freezers.
-Follow workplace health and safety procedures, including proper handling of knives and cutting equipment, and assist with end-of-day cleaning and closing procedures.

Qualifications
-Completion of secondary school
-Prior experience is an asset
