Job Description

Job Duties

- Measure and fabricate steel siding in accordance with plan specifications for residential and commercial projects.
- Fold and shape steel siding panels and sheet metal to fit building dimensions, corners, openings and architectural details.
- Use hand and power tools to install, maintain and restore steel siding and roofing materials.
- Assist with installing soffits, fascia, trim and fasteners to secure and finish steel siding systems.
- Install and remove roofing materials and prepare roof surfaces for roofing work.
- Inspect installed panels for alignment, secure fastening, proper overlap, weather resistance and a consistent finished appearance, and correct deficiencies as required.
- Set up, inspect and safely use ladders and equipment needed to perform work at heights.
- Maintain and fix tools and equipment, organize materials and keep work areas clear of debris.
- Load, unload and safely transport building materials around job sites.
- Follow applicable workplace safety procedures.
- Complete other related duties as required.

Employment Requirements

Education:

- Completion of high school.

Licensing:

- Fall arrest certification.
- Lift license.

Experience:

- Minimum six months’ experience installing steel siding.

Language of Work:

- English language ability.

Skills:

- Good verbal communication skills.
- Excellent manual dexterity.
- Efficient interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use hand tools and work at heights.
- Able to lift heavy steel siding.
- Ability to stand, walk and kneel for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to travel to worksites.

Wage:

- $25.00 per hour.

Location of Work:

- Head Office: 385 Bay Bulls Rd, St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, A1G 1C2.

- Work Locations: Various worksites across St. John’s and surrounding areas in accordance with business and client needs.
